Well as each day passes more things continue to happen for the 2008 IIC. We
just received word that Nick Daman and his crew from RC TV in the UK will be
attending the IIC to get even more in-depth and behind the scene coverage
than last year. Last year they did a great job showcasing the IIC and there
is no doubt that this years coverage will surpass 2007.

Bodies: When I made the ruling regarding light weight bodies I should have used different words other than Light Weight. My rule was issued toward Ultra Light weight bodies. These are the ones we will not be allowing. Light weight bodies of .30 are ok to be used I am sorry for any confusion.
1/12th Scale weight: As our industry continues to change, unfortunately some of our rules are a bit slow to change with the times. 1/12th scale weight is one of these. The current weight I had posted of 794 grams is not a realistic weight in these times of Brushless motor systems. So I am changing the minimum weight to the current IFMAR Legal weight of 865 grams. This is what will be used for the World Championships this year and we will be using the same weight for this years IIC.
We look forward to seeing everyone for this years IIC and we hope everyone has a safe trip and gets ready to have some great fun on the Strip.
Thanks
Scotty

Hi everyone, well it is time to get everyone up to speed on how things are progressing for this years IIC. Now that the IIC crew has returned from a very successful Reedy Race of Champions, we are now focused on and moving full steam ahead on the IIC. Entries for this years event continue to flow in each week. Rubber tire classes are clearly the most popular out of the sedan divisions. At the time I am writing this, 13.5 Rubber is over 60 entries and the Amateur division is at 50, since we still have some drivers who want to race these divisions, we have opened more space in these classes as well as 1/12 17.5 which has also sold out so we opened more space in this class also.
As those of you that have been to the IIC before, you know one of the coolest things about racing with us is the SATCHEL of free stuff you get in the goodie bag.
Well this year it looks like it will be the largest goodie bag we will have for you racers as our sponsors continue to support the IIC and this year we have a brand new sponsor that will be adding to the Satchel. Racers Edge RC products offers a very wide selection of products from aluminum spacers to huge hauler bags, well they have joined us as a sponsor for this years IIC and have added an awesome gift to the goodie bag. Thanks to Racers Edge each participant of the IIC will be receiving a Racers Edge Lipo Bag! These sell in stores for almost $30 dollars. Add this onto all the other great things you receive and you see that our sponsors are doing all they can to give you the racer the absolute best value and best event possible. In the coming weeks, we will feature all the great things our sponsors will be adding to the Goodie Bag.
The body rules for this year’s event have been decided and this is what we will be allowing.
Rubber Tire Touring: We will be allowing all ROAR Approved bodies for the this years event. Roar has updated body list and the current list is in affect for the entire 2008 season.
Foam Tire Touring: We will be following the new Global Body Spec rules that have been established. 2 bodies will be allowed for the event. The Parma Mohawk 2 and the Protoform R9F. Both these bodies will have markings that designate them as GBS bodies.
I have also made a decision that we will not be allowing Ultra Light bodies. We have all seen what these bodies have done to close side by side racing and I don’t think there is anyone that can say it has improved racing. So we will not be allowing these. All bodies running in the Foam classes will have to have the GBS marking which is molded into the bodies.
1/12th Divisions: will also be using Roar Approved bodies
World GT: We will be allowing the bodies listed on the rules page.
Again for the this years event, Jaco will be the official Rubber tire for the IIC. Jack and the team are busy doing testing on the new compounds of Jaco Rubberz tires and info regarding what compound we will be using will be forthcoming. One thing that is set is that this years tires will be coming on the Brand New Prism rims. If you have not seen these yet, they look awesome!
Motors for the handout classes have not been set yet, but it is getting close. The response from all the motors companies has been quite overwhelming and it is taking me a bit of time to get everything organized and finalize. Thanks for your patience.
That is about the latest and greatest right now. As always, we invite your questions and I will keep you updated as often as I can.
If you have any questions, please let us know at Boomer@intchamps.com or info@intchamps.com.
Thanks again for everyone’s support
Scotty

Well what an incredible first night of entries. First I must give the biggest thanks to Shane Archer for awesome work on the Database that went as close to perfects as we could have hoped for. Next to Nick from JXR Media designer of our IIC site and the man who tied it all together. Next, I guess I have to give big props to my Bro Boomer who is the man who holds everything together. Even though he has a full time job, he stays up late each night working to ensure we all look good. Thanks Bro could not do this without you. But don’t let it go to your head.
Entries last night went awesome. It was a great process being able to chat on RCTECH and email so many of you and Boomer and I were able to call many of you that had questions. Thanks to all of you for your patience in the craziness. We did have some classes sell out already last night, due to the high demand in these classes I have opened up some more spaces for them.
It was a bit of a gamble to start a new class like Amateur, but I truly felt that it was a class that needed to be started and I am proud to say that it was the first class to sell out, So I have opened up for more entries, but I think we are going to be at the Maximum for this class, so if you or any of your fellow racers are interested in this class, it would behoove you to enter right away.
Next to sell out was the 13.5 Rubber tire. I know that there is always the debate between the Foam and Rubber tire drivers, but at the IIC we have had great success offering both classes and again we will continue to do this. To answer the demand for this class, we have also opened this division up to more entries. So if you still want to enter these two classes, now is your chance.
Thanks again for everyone’s support of all we do and all of us on the IIC staff look forward to bringing you the best possible racing experience you can have.
Sincerely,
Scotty

Entry fee for the 2008 IIC has been announced!
All 13.5 and 17.5 classes will be receiving handout Brushless motors included with their entry fee for this year’s event. As Brushless technology has taken over the RC world, we wanted to offer this great technology in a handout format to our racers at this year’s IIC. Entry fee for this year’s 13.5 and 17.5 classes will be as follows: $165.00 for your first class and your 2nd and 3rd class will be $90.00. Given the handout motors for this year's event will be Brushless we are very excited to only have a $15.00 increase in entry fees from last year.
We are excited to be able to offer the stock racers this great opportunity to race in the IIC in a handout motor environment and be the first to offer Handout Brushless to racers.
Included in your entry fee will be the following,
Entry into one of the largest and most prestigious events in the world, located right in the heart of Las Vegas on the world famous Strip.

Great awards
And a race atmosphere you cannot find anywhere in the world.
For our Modified and 10.5 divisions it will continue to be as before. These divisions will be a bring your own motor. You will also receive all the great things the other classes get minus the motors of course.
We look forward to seeing everyone at this years IIC and if you have any questions at all, please let us know.
See you on the Strip.
Scotty

The 2008 IIC will be the first handout brushless event in history! Please check back for updates as we continue our motor selection process. Once a final decision has been reached information on exactly which motors have been selected will be made available.

The official rubber spec tire for the 2008 International Indoor Championships will be provided by Jaco again this year. The Jaco rubber tires performed very well at last year's event and we are excited to have them again this year! As with previous years tires will be available for purchase with cash or credit cards at the registration booth.

We would like to welcome Jaco, SMC, Parma/PSE, Top Racing, CRC and Corally USA back as official sponsors of the International Indoor Championships!
